Focus turns to derby in Bogliasco, double helping of training on Tuesday

After a day of rest, Sampdoria resumed training today as the week begins that builds up to the first Derby della Lanterna of the season.

To begin with, Marco Giampaolo split his squad into two different groups who were each faced with their own training programme to follow. The first group – those who were heavily involved against Pescara including Emiliano Viviano and Luis Muriel – went through a recovery session in the gym and the pool. The second group, featuring Ricky Alvarez, Fabio Quagliarella and Primavera star Jacopo Cioce, were instead put through a high-intensity workout outside.

Carlos Carbonero and Daniel Pavlovic pressed on with their personalised recovery programmes.

The Blucerchiati have a double session in store for them tomorrow.
