22-man squad named for cup clash. Castan out with thigh strain

Leandro Castan is set to miss Sampdoria’s first match of the season after suffering a thigh strain in training this morning.

Daniel Pavlovic will also sit out the Blucerchiati’s Coppa Italia tie against Virtus Bassano due to a knee problem he picked up during the recent training camp in Acqui Termi.

Marco Giampaolo will therefore have the following 22 players to choose from for Samp’s third-round cup clash at Marassi on Sunday evening (20:45 CEST):

Goalkeepers: Puggioni, Tozzo, Viviano.

Defenders: De Silvestri, Pereira, Regini, Sala, Silvestre, Skriniar.

Midfielders: Alvarez, Barreto, Cigarini, Djuricic, Eramo, Linetty, Ivan, Palombo, Torreira.

Forwards: Budimir, Muriel, Quagliarella, Schick.
