Doria limp to first defeat of pre-season against third-tier Feralpisalo
Sampdoria under Marco Giampaolo are clearly a work in progress at the moment and hiccups along the way are to be expected, even though they might be a little tough to take.
After the run-out against Sellero Novelle, the Blucerchiati came grinding to a halt against Lega Pro side Feralpisalò and ended up losing 2-0.
The Blucerchiati looked poor in the first half and could only muster wayward shots from Patrik Schick and Antonio Cassano. Giampaolo demanded more from his players in attack but there was little response in the second half and Feralpi took the lead in the 61st minute after Christian Puggioni’s error at the back handed the opposition striker an easy tap-in. Five minutes later, the Brescian side doubled their lead and from there on saw the game out fairly comfortably.
Nothing to worry too much about, the players just need to get their heads down and improve. Hard work is the only way forward.
