Blucerchiati rain down the goals on Sellero Novelle: 13-1 the final scoreline
Beautiful weather, a good crowd and the necessary goal-fest to kick off the season in the best way possible.
All in all, Marco Giampaolo had a good first day in the Blucerchiati dugout. The new Sampdoria coach lined his players up in the 4-3-1-2 formation they’ve been working on in the last few days and it took just ten minutes for his new charges to find the net, Lorenzo De Silvestri nodding home from a corner.
Roberto Soriano grabbed himself a first-half double, Jacopo Sala scored a fine solo goal before the front two of Fabio Quagliarella and Luis Muriel grabbed one each to take Doria into half-time 6-1 up.
Samp immediately picked up where they left off in the second half, scoring three quick-fire goals including debut strikes for Patrik Schick and Ante Budimir. Antonio Cassano opened his account for the season while Budimir finished on four for the afternoon as the game finished 13-1 to Sampdoria.
