Giampaolo’s manifesto: “Hard graft, dedication, belonging and desire for constant improvement”

Marco Giampaolo revealed his plans for Sampdoria when he was unveiled at a news conference on Wednesday.

“I’m thrilled to be here. I’ve been close to joining Samp in the past and this year I finally got the call I was hoping for,” the new Blucerchiati boss began.

“Last year the team was better than their final league position suggests but we’ll all need to step up if we want to do better.

“My football is based on a team game; I don’t want to rely on individuals. If we’re to be successful my players must be dedicated, share a sense of belonging and a work culture.

“They must all be determined to improve – especially the youngsters. Our desire to succeed should be the fuel that drives us forward.”
