Walter Sabatini to join as technical director on 1 July

Walter Sabatini, one of the most well-known football experts, both in Italy and internationally, will take the technical director role at Sampdoria from the start of next month.

Announcing the new director’s arrival, club president Massimo Ferrero said: “I’m delighted and proud to announce that Walter Sabatini will become part of the Sampdoria family.”

Mr Sabatini has a wealth of top-level experience and will officially begin his duties with the Blucerchiati on 1 July 2018.

He was welcomed to the club by Ferrero as well as legal and sporting directors Antonio Romei and Carlo Osti, who have wished him the best of luck for the job. A press conference will be held for Mr Sabatini’s official unveiling, the date and location of which will be announced in the coming days.
