Prade: “Here to grow Samp – the club with the best colours in the world”

Daniele Prade outlined his ambitions to help further Sampdoria’s development as a club in all areas when he spoke at a press conference in Bogliasco on Tuesday morning

The newly appointed technical director told the gathered media: “It’s a privilege to be here. I’m very proud to have been chosen by president Massimo Ferrero, a man who injects energy in you every time you speak to him.

“Sampdoria have a huge desire to grow as a club and I’m here to help make that happen.

“I’m really happy to have joined this club – it has the best colours in the world and a stadium with a truly wonderful atmosphere.”

Prade went on to discuss some of Samp’s plans for the future.

“I’m not sure the word ‘project’ is appropriate in football but we can certainly say this club has big plans, starting with Casa Samp – a state-of-the-art facility that few clubs in Italy possess. Then of course we have a first-team with solid foundations.

“Sampdoria want to grow and be an innovative company. I’ll be following football matters of course but I’ll also be working on the club’s business plan, in communications and marketing. I’ll help to connect the various areas.

“I’ve signed a one-year contract with an option for a second. It will take us a few months to get to know each other but we’re already working with the future in mind.”

The Blucerchiati director also offered his thoughts on the coach and the team.

“Giampaolo is a very capable coach. He’s got what it takes to improve the players by working with them on the training ground.

“Sampdoria set out to play good football but we’ll have a look at where we need to change things and where we can improve.

“Our long-term aim is to give our players an identity, a sense of belonging to the Samp colours starting with the youngest academy kids.”
