Samp eSports Weekend: FIFA results
The second day of Samp eSports Weekend is done and dusted. It was a Sunday dedicated entirely to FIFA 20, with Mattia Lonewolf92 Guarracino and Thomas ASAPTOM96 Saiani leading the line for the hosts. It provided fantastic entertainment for gaming fanatics who, through the new @sampdoria_eSports Twitch channel, were able to watch four high-level clashes against St. Pauli, Sporting Clube de Portugal, Villarreal and Huracan.
The afternoon started off with a contest between the Blucerchiati and St. Pauli, with the Germans, represented by Noah, coming out on top in the first and third rounds, nullifying ASAPTOM’s win in their second meeting. The scorelines were 1-4, 3-1 and 0-5. Lonewolf, who was defeated in his opening game, made a swift recovery to turn over Sporting’s Bruno Rato: 3-2 (on penalties) and 2-0. Samp also enjoyed success over Argentine side Huracan (2-1, 1-3, 1-0) led by Maatihuracan. ASAPTOM also had something to shout about in the shape of victory over a Villarreal team with Ralfitita at the helm (2-0, 2-3, 4-0).

Besides Lonewolf and ASAPTOM, who conjured up all sorts with Kaka and Cruyff pulling the strings in their respective line-ups on FUT, Jakub Jankto made a live appearance in which he spoke of his desire to get back into the swing of things. “I can’t wait to be training again. I’ve been stuck at home for two months now and am looking forward to getting back out there. As for what I’ve been doing, I’ve been playing on the PlayStation. I’ve been passionate about it since I was little, but it’s now a world that is literally exploding. Sampi, my eSports team in the Czech Republic, is a hobby that I’m very fond of.” The midfielder also discussed the fact that the derby was supposed to take place on Sunday. “Would it have been today? How time flies. Let’s hope we can face them again soon. It’s a special fixture and, luckily, it’s one I am yet to lose.”
The long weekend finally came to an end at 15:00 CEST on Monday, after 10 more hours of live streaming in the #SafeandSamp eCup. The amateur tournament is dedicated to FIFA players and allows you to put your gaming skills to the test. It was free to enter and teams had to have a maximum overall rating of 85 (all balanced) to allow everyone to enjoy themselves alongside Sampdoria.
