There are moments in the careers of footballers that become integral parts of their personal story and that with their team. It is with this in mind that Dugout brings you ‘The Moment’, in which players talk about some of their most memorable moments on the field, from their own view point. In this instalment, Jacopo Sala shares his experience of the 113rd edition of the Derby della Lanterna. A crucial win for Marco Giampaolo and his players, the result came after a goal from Luis Muriel, after a move that began with the full back, and an own-goal from Armando Izzo.
Sala says: “We came into the match as underdogs, because we were going through a tough spell. But starting the game and winning it as we did – it’s the best moment I’ve experienced in my time here.”
