Huge success of derby fundraiser for victims of earthquake in central Italy

The glorious defeat of arch-rivals Genoa in the Derby della Lanterna on Saturday was not the only cause for celebration among Sampdoria fans.

Thanks to the sale of almost 10,000 flags, the Blucerchiati faithful were able to donate €39,411 to the victims of the August earthquake in central Italy.

It’s a fantastic result from the initiative and thanks are due to everyone involved in producing, selling and buying the flags. Samp supporters aren’t stopping here, however, as some flags are still available and will be on sale for €5 during Sampdoria v Inter on Sunday 30 October.
