Pedro Pereira: “Portugal won the Euros by fighting as a team”

Sampdoria youngster Pedro Pereira believes that it was Portugal’s unity that saw them crowned European Champions on Sunday.

“It was a tough final, but Portugal fought as a team – it was as if they knew each other by heart,” Pereira told Samp TV.

“Cristiano Ronaldo was a real leader, staying there to cheer on his team-mates after he got injured and had to come off,” he continued.
