Ponce starts for Venezuela in Copa America warm-up match against Panama
Doria youngster Andres Ponce has played another game for Venezuela in the build-up to the Copa America.
After coming on as a sub in the recent friendly against Galicia, the 19-year-old striker – who topped the Primavera scoring charts last season with 24 goals in 24 games – made his full debut for the senior national team on Wednesday, starting and finishing the 0-0 draw against Panama.
Venezuela have two more friendlies – against Costa Rica in San Jose on 27 May and Guatemala in Fort Lauderdale on 1 June – before head coach Rafael Dudamel confirms his squad for the Copa America Centenario, which takes place in the United States from 3 to 26 June.
