De Silvestri and Soriano in Italy squad for pre-Euro 2016 training camp

Lorenzo De Silvestri and Roberto Soriano have been called up for an Italy training camp as the Azzurri begin their countdown to Euro 2016.

The 28-man squad – which doesn’t include players involved in cup finals with their clubs – will report to the national team headquarters in Coverciano at 12:00 on Wednesday 18 May for the start of six training sessions. The last of these will be on Saturday 21 May.

On 23 May Antonio Conte will announce another squad for the second stage of the Azzurri’s European Championship preparations, beginning in Coverciano the following day.

The second phase will be divided into two periods of approximately a week each, with friendlies to be played against Scotland (29 May in Malta) and Finland (6 June in Verona) before Italy depart for Montpellier from Milano Malpensa on 8 June.

Conte will reveal his final 23-man squad for this summer’s showpiece on Tuesday 31 May.
