Recovery work and prep for Sassuolo trip, Montella conference on Tuesday

Vincenzo Montella’s Sampdoria squad were back at the Centro Sportivo Gloriano Mugnaini in Bogliasco on Monday afternoon following Sunday night’s slender defeat to AC Milan.

President Massimo Ferrero – along with club lawyer Antonio Romei and sporting director Carlo Osti – paid both the first-team and Primavera squads a visit as Montella’s men began to look ahead to Wednesday’s trip to Sassuolo.

With those involved for all or most of the defeat to AC Milan working through a recovery session, the rest of the group – supplemented with Primavera youngsters Andrea Bacigalupo, Denis Baumgartner, Jacopo Cioce and Leonardo Serinelli – were put through their paces with a regular session.

Carlos Carbonero is still in Barcelona, while Antonio Cassano, David Ivan and Jacopo Sala focused on their personalised recovery plans.

Samp will train behind closed doors on Tuesday morning, with Montella holding his pre-match press conference at 15:00 CET (follow it on Samp TV and @sampdoria_en). The squad will then head to Reggio Emilia in the late afternoon.
