Montella takes the positives: “Shame we didn’t get the draw but pleased with the performance”

Despite Saturday night’s 1-0 home loss to AC Milan, Sampdoria boss Vincenzo Montella was pleased with his side’s performance and believes they were at least deserving of a point.

“The team deserved something from the game – they played the match perfectly,” began Montella after the game. “That said, we need to be more clinical and commit fewer errors. When a match is in the balance it’s the little things that count.

“Over the course of the season, refereeing decisions largely even up. We’re disappointed but I have to focus on the positives and move forward. There’s lots of room for improvement.”
