Krsticic talks to Samp TV: “I’m in better shape now and enjoying myself under Montella”
The future captain is on the comeback trail. Nenad Krsticic, in line to inherit the Samp armband one day, is back to his best. He got injured in the second derby of the 2012/13 season and endured a tough couple of years after that. Now though, the Serbian midfielder – who owes his life to the Sampdoria medical staff who spotted a tumour when he was much younger – is once again on the up.
“I wasn’t fit when the coach came in,” revealed the midfielder in a long chat with Samp TV. “I’m back training consistently now and I’m fit, thanks in part to the confidence Montella has shown in me. I want to repay that faith from him and the club who stood by me during a tough time in my life.”
