Moisander and Italy trio back in Bogliasco. Afternoon session on Thursday

There was a double dose of training for Sampdoria today with Sunday’s visit to Fiorentina at the Stadio Franchi now fast closing in on the horizon.

After a gym session in the morning, Vincenzo Montella and the coaching staff had the Blucerchiati – joined by Primavera youngsters Giedrius Matulevicius, Giacomo Calò, Leonardo Serinelli and Andrés Ponce – run through a series of technical and tactical drills in the afternoon.

A number of international players reported back today. Niklas Moisander popped in for a check-up with club doctor Amedeo Baldari while Andrea Ranocchia, Roberto Soriano and Lorenzo De Silvestri trained with the rest of the squad. De Silvestre only did part of the session with the main group before carrying out some individual work.

Meanwhile Angelo Palombo (in Bogliasco) and Carlos Carbonero (in Barcelona) continued their respective recovery programmes.

On Thursday the team will train behind closed doors in the afternoon.
