Montella: “Incredible bad luck recently but we’re clearly on the up”
Vincenzo Montella was left ruing Sampdoria’s misfortune after the Blucerchiati slipped to a 2-1 defeat against Roma at the Olimpico.
“We didn’t deserve to lose this game,” the coach said after the final whistle. “I don’t think we got off to a slow start, though it’s true we were better after the break.
“Roma didn’t do all that much really – they fashioned a couple of chances but not much more. Things just aren’t going for us at the moment. Their first goal was like Torino’s, right at the end of the half. And their second was a loose ball pinging around.
“After that we were superb for forty minutes. We didn’t deserve to come away empty-handed.”
