Montella issues rallying cry: “Everything to play for against Juventus”
Vincenzo Montella has urged his side to believe they can get a result when Juventus come to Marassi on Sunday evening.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Montella declared: “Football has taught me that there are no foregone conclusions. I think Juventus have settled now. They have a winning mentality and we’ll need to be at our best to beat them.”
The Sampdoria boss then looked back at the derby win over Genoa: “I can confirm that winning the derby as a coach is even better. Maybe we lacked a bit of composure in the latter stages but I was really pleased with what I saw. As a coach you hope to see your ideas on the pitch and that was the case on Tuesday night. I hope the same thing happens against Juventus!”
Montella also had a few words for Juventus striker Paulo Dybala: “Dybala is a great player – he reminds me a bit of myself when I was a youngster!”
