Eyes on Juventus, De Silvestri undergoes medical tests

Sampdoria were greeted to a hearty applause from fans as they arrived at the Centro Sportivo Mugnaini to begin preparations for the visit of the champions on Sunday.

More than 100 supporters turned up in Bogliasco to watch the training session following yesterday’s win over bitter rivals Genoa.

To begin with, the Blucerchiati squad were divided into two groups: the players who were heavily involved last night had a warm-down session, while the rest went through exercises on tactics, technique and shooting.

Djamel Mesbah and Matias Silvestre continued their personalised training programmes.

After being forced off early with a muscle injury yesterday, Lorenzo De Silvestri spent the session with the physio after tests in the morning revealed a small tear to his right hamstring. The Italian defender will now be put onto a recovery plan to get him back to full fitness.

Samp will be back out for training again tomorrow afternoon.
