Back to work in Bogliasco minus the South Americans. Double workout on Tuesday

Sampdoria resumed training at the Mugnaini on Monday morning following the Christmas break. Vincenzo Montella gathered his squad – minus South America-based players Matías Silvestre, Joaquín Correa, Eder Citadin Martins and Luis Muriel – on the main pitch to kickstart preparations for the Genoa derby on 5 January.

The lads started with a warm-up before moving onto ball work and tactical drills. Edgar Barreto joined the main group after beginning the session separately, while Djamel Mesbah and Nenad Krsticic worked in the gym, the latter then moving outside for some extra work on the pitch.

The Blucerchiati will train both morning and afternoon on Tuesday.
