Euro qualifiers: Eder, Soriano win with Italy, Zukanovic in play-offs
Three players, two wins, one first place and one play-off spot secured. That was Samp’s haul from the last round of international fixtures played on Tuesday evening.
Eder Citadin Martins and Roberto Soriano both started for Italy at the Stadio Olimpico, where goals by Florenzi (73) and Pellè (82) saw Antonio Conte’s side come from behind to beat Norway 2-1 after Tettey’s opener (23). The result means the Azzurri finish top of Group H on 24 points but they won’t be seeded in the draw for next summer’s finals.
Elsewhere Ervin Zukanovic’s Bosnia and Herzegovina booked a play-off spot by defeating Cyprus 3-2 (Medunjanin 13 and 44, Charalambides 32, Mytidis 41, Djuric 67). They will find out who they must face in the two-legged November play-off when the draw is made in Nyon on Sunday.
