Goal no consolation for Soriano: “We wanted to produce a good performance”
“This defeat hurts,” declared Blucerchiati captain Roberto Soriano as he looked back on a disappointing night for Sampdoria against Atalanta. Soriano, who scored Samp’s consolation goal late on and was denied by a Sportiello wondersave with the scores at 1-0, spoke to the press after the defeat.
“We wanted to have another good performance after Roma, but it wasn’t to be. We have to hand it to Atalanta for the way they played tonight, but we gave them far too much room. It’s a shame their goalie pulled that save off, but there’s no point feeling sorry for ourselves.
“Now we need to focus on Inter – despite their defeat to Fiorentina they’re still a great side. We’ll give everything at Marassi with the help of our fans,” declared Soriano.
