Soriano’s delight: “Always great to play in front of these fans”

Roberto Soriano is not one to shy away. He had just scored a beauty to seal the points against Bologna, but his mind was still on the chance he missed in the first half: “When I scored I was a little angry about the chance I missed in the first period,” admitted the Sampdoria and Italy midfielder, with Antonio Conte in the crowd at the Marassi. “Thankfully we have two brilliant forwards who can score goals at any time and luckily Eder broke the deadlock, setting us on course for the win. It’s always great for me to play in this stadium, in front of these fans. There were talks with Napoli but that’s now water under the bridge. I’m happy to be a Sampdoria player.”
