Zenga: “There’s unity right through our dressing room. It’s our biggest asset”
Sampdoria boss Walter Zenga believes that the burgeoning team spirit within the Blucerchiati camp will reap rewards on the pitch during the season ahead. Speaking at a press conference ahead of Sunday’s visit of Bologna, Zenga declared: “My players have fun when they play. Every training session is an absolute pleasure. Our job is to work hard today towards a better future – that’s what we focus on every time we come to work.”
Turning his focus to Sunday’s match, Zenga said: “We face a good side that has made substantial investment. But rather than speaking about them I want to concentrate on us. We’ve got a great squad and have incorporated the new faces well. When everyone is at 100% our fans will be very happy.”
There was also an update on some of Samp’s injury concerns: “Correa is available for selection. He’s in good shape and is a very important player for us. Cassano will join up with the group from next week – it’s better to wait a few days more now than lose him for weeks.”
