Carbonero: “Samp wanted me the most, I’m here to repay that trust”

Carlos Mario Carbonero Mancilla is Sampdoria’s latest signing. The Colombian midfielder, formally of River Plate and Cesena, has joined the Blucerchiati on a loan deal.

After completing his medical at Laboratorio Albaro, Carbonero quickly put pen to paper in the presence of his agents and Samp’s sporting director Carlo Osti.

He had this to say after completing the move: “The negotiations took a long time, but finally I’m here and I’m so happy to play for Sampdoria. This club can help me grow and the 4-3-1-2 formation is perfectly suited to me, I’ll be able to show everyone my best qualities.

“I like to play attacking midfield and I hope I can do my best to help the club on to more and more success.”
