Debut delight for David Ivan: “Thanks to the gaffer, my team-mates and the fans”
There can’t be a much better game to make your Serie A debut than a 5-2 victory at home with a rocking atmosphere at the Marassi. That’s what happened to 20-year-old David Ivan against Carpi at the weekend. The only downside was his sending-off for two bookable offences, which means he’ll miss the trip to Napoli next weekend.
The former Primavera captain was nonetheless delighted about making his first-team bow and he made a point of thanking his team-mates, the coach and the fans when he spoke to Samp TV after the game: “It’s so much easier when you’re playing alongside the likes of Fernando, Barreto and Cassani,” he grinned.
