Zenga: “Too long since our last home win. We want three points for the fans”
Head coach Walter Zenga is adamant there’s only one result open to his team as they prepare to kick off the new Serie A season against Carpi at the Stadio Ferraris tomorrow.
“We want to give our fans three points to cheer about because we haven’t won in Marassi since March,” he declared in his news conference on the eve of the match.
Not that the boss is underestimating the Serie A new boys. He’s acutely aware of the task facing his side.
“It won’t be easy by any means because we’re up against a side that achieved the extraordinary last year in winning Serie B,” he continued. “They’re very good on the break but we’re at home so it’s up to us to impose ourselves on the game.”
