Doria test out new Ferraris turf. Back in Marassi on Saturday for training and pre-match press conference
Sampdoria got their first taste of the Stadio Luigi Ferraris’ brand-new turf when they ventured out for training at 18:00 this evening after Antonio Cassano’s official unveiling.
Walter Zenga and his coaching staff guided the Blucerchiati through a series of technical and tactical drills, followed by work on set pieces with Sunday’s visit of Serie A newcomers Carpi in mind.
Joaquín Correa and Nenad Krsticic did not join in with the rest of the squad: they stayed behind in Bogliasco to work on their individual rehab programmes.
The team will be back in Marassi tomorrow to run through their final preparations for their opening-day fixture against last year’s Serie B champions. Before then, at 17:00 CEST, Zenga will meet with the media to discuss the game.
