Samp to play home leg of UEL qualifier at Turin’s Stadio Olimpico
U.C. Sampdoria will play their ‘home’ match of the 2015/16 UEFA Europa League third qualifying round at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin.
UEFA and the FIGC have been notified of the alternative venue, which was needed due to ongoing work at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris where new turf is being laid in agreement with Lega Serie A.
Turin’s Olimpico, where Torino play their home games, was chosen due to its conformity with UEFA regulations and its relative proximity to Genoa, with the aim of facilitating Blucerchiati fans who wish to attend the fixture.
Once the Europa League draw has been made, U.C. Sampdoria will announce the date and time of the match, which stadium sectors will be open to the public, as well as full ticket details and stadium access information.
President Massimo Ferrero and everyone at U.C. Sampdoria would like to thank the mayor of Turin Piero Fassino, the local councillor for sport and culture Stefano Gallo, Torino president Urbano Cairo and Torino F.C. as a whole.
