Gabbiadini: “We need to build on this and keep going”
Manolo Gabbiadini urged Sampdoria to build on their back-to-back wins over Lecce and SPAL as he spoke to the media following the win at Marassi on Sunday night.
“We wanted to build on the Lecce result and that’s what we’ve done,” said the forward, who scored his 50th goal in Serie A in the win over SPAL. “It’s a nice milestone to get to 50 Serie A goals and I want to keep going. There are eight games left and we need to keep pushing. We’ve taken a step forward, but we need to keep fighting tooth and nail.”
No Italian has scored more direct free-kicks than Gabbiadini since the 2013/14 season, his first in the colours of Sampdoria.
“I’m always trying them – it’s one of the things I have in my locker,” he said. “I try to score as often as possible, of course. We need to produce a top performance in Bergamo on Wednesday night. We’re up against the form team in the league so it’ll be very difficult, but we’ll give it a go.”
